The Toy Cleanup Escape Plan

Every day, it starts the same way. My little one drags her overflowing toy bag into the living room, huffing and puffing like she’s carrying the weight of the world.

“Sweetheart, remember—you have to clean up after playing.” She nods eagerly. “Yes, Mommy! I will clean!”

I should know better by now.

After the fun is over, I remind her. “Time to clean up!” She suddenly looks exhausted. “Mommy, I can’t. You do it.”

I refuse. She pouts. I try my last trick. “Okay then, I’ll give these toys to another baby.”

Panic. She runs out of the room. Mission - Find Daddy.

Moments later, her savior arrives. “She needs my help,” he declares. And just like that, I watch as Daddy picks up every toy… while she stands beside him, pointing like a tiny supervisor. “That one, Daddy. Oh, and that one too!”

I sigh. Another day, another successful escape plan.
